These general guidelines help protect brass décor and support safe use. Follow any product-specific instructions supplied with your item.
Brass care
- Dust with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
- For light cleaning, use a slightly damp soft cloth and dry immediately.
- Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, bleach and prolonged moisture.
- Natural brass may develop patina over time. Use a brass-safe polish only when suitable for the finish, testing a hidden area first.
- Keep decorative pieces away from salt spray, persistent humidity and surfaces that may be scratched.
Candle and heat safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep flames away from children, pets, curtains and combustible materials.
- Place candle holders on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
- Use correctly sized candles and keep wax and wicks maintained.
- Metal may become hot. Let it cool completely before touching or moving it.
Heavy and fragile items
- Use appropriate lifting help for heavy products.
- Place items on stable surfaces capable of supporting their weight.
- Keep heavy or breakable décor away from edges and children’s reach.
- Do not use decorative products for food, drink, cooking or storage unless the listing expressly says they are suitable.
